Unlike traditional bushing monitors which require an outage to install sensors, Sensei’s non-invasive solution employs state-of-the-art image processing and comparative analytics combined with industry-leading FLIR thermal/radiometric cameras to provide continuous monitoring of critical connections throughout the substation.
And unlike standard NVR and DVR products which record only the colorized IR image, Sensei’s patent-pending Analytic Video Recorder captures and stores frame-by-frame pixel-by-pixel radiometric data allowing for precise real-time and retrospective temperature measurement and analysis.
Real-time and recorded data from any measurement probe may be continuously compared to those of any other probe(s) in the system. Differential analysis provides users with the ability to detect and investigate unusual circumstances without regard for environmental variables such as ambient temperature, emissivity or relative humidity. Because like devices operating under identical conditions should provide similar thermal profiles, variances in these relationships can quickly identify outliers and indicate further investigative action.
FIXED OR PTZ CAMERA SUPPORT
For multi-camera platforms the AVR also records the visible-light imagery along with the thermographic and radiometric data. And for PTZ platforms multiple preset scenes may be configured as discrete virtual cameras with user-programmable duty cycles and measurement parameters.
AUTOMATIC MONITORING AND NOTIFICATON
Alarm points may be set for each probe based on discrete temperature values or maximum differential temperature between any number of probes.
SensEye AVR supports interface modules for all major industrial automation protocols including MODBUS, DNP-3 and OPC, so integrating to BMS or automation systems is a snap.
